I noticed in an another blog post you mentioned being repeatedly banned from neopagan spaces. After reading this I can kind of understand why. Have you considered that it is because your approach to neopaganism can be seen as being in bad faith? Your criticism of Taylor using the Icarus myth for example is...kay. Taylor's religion uses the concept of an Imminent God or better put Nature as God. To Taylor the gods absolutely punished Icarus for his hubris by simply being there. The sun is warm, the sea is cold. They are what they are and thus divine. Icarus punishes himself by his folly because he is not higher than nature.
Ignoring that you seem to operate on the hypocritical notion that neopagans are both able to form exegesis while also only allowing it in a specific way. Notice I said hypocritical not dialetical. It's clear you have utter disdain for neopagans. As I said in a previous comment you don't really understand the rituals we neopagans/witches/magickal workers perform. We use the term magick to differentiate between standard devotionals and the intense direct participation we do on spellwork. We also use it to show a lineage to Thelema, and neo Hermeticism. We also use it to show our semi-fantastical/whimisical ideas we get through contemporary fantasy sich as Pratchett, Gaiman, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and yes Disney's Hercules.
In short, maybe study some neopaganism before you criticise it so harshly. You are an outsider in our world. Either that or leave us to our religion in peace. We as neopagans will extend Xenia but only while you are kind and respectful.
